I had the lamb kabob and the hummus. The portions are very generous for the prices. The lamb was a bit too well done but I'd still say 5 stars overall.
It's a walk-up counter inside a Persian grocery, so 'service ' and 'atmosphere' don't really apply. Food is terrific
I have been eating their kabobs for over 20 years. I live in Pennsylvania now and there is nothing that compares to Yekta kabob! Nothing. I remember when it was just a little cafeteria style gem, a diamond in the rough. Then they moved into a beautiful upscale restaurant and never changed their quality like some other places. After 30vyears of eating kabobs in different states and cities and I have lived everywhere......Yekta beats everyone hands down. It's home! And even during COVID, they found a way to keep getting that heavenly food to their biggest fans. Thank you! Don't ever take away the grocery shop or the kabob menu! I think I would cry!
For years, this kabab restaurant has been my go-to spot for the most flavorful and perfectly cooked kababs. Their food has always been outstanding—juicy, well-seasoned, and consistently on point. While I do miss their sit-down dining experience, their transition to a takeout spot hasn’t changed the quality of their food one bit. Every bite still bursts with authentic flavors, and their dedication to using fresh ingredients is evident in every dish. The service remains friendly and efficient, ensuring that my orders are always hot and ready on time. If you're craving top-notch kababs, this is still the best place to go!
Although the grocery store is small, it has just about everything you when food shopping. The prices are reasonable, taking in consideration the fact that there are not many Persian groceries in the area. I like the fact that veggies and fruits are always fresh. They also have great collection of middle eastern desserts.
Every time we come to the Rockville / Bethesda area, we almost always stop by Yekta Kabobi restaurant for lunch or dinner. This Persian restaurant is one of our most favorite restaurants anywhere. It feels comfortable and elegant, the service is excellent, and their food is delicious and reasonable. We usually visit here for lunch, and for that, we typically order the following dishes: Starter: Kashke Bademjan (Fried Eggplant with Fermented Whey, Onions and Mint) Sandwich: Zaban (Seasoned Beef Tongue) Lunch Special: Chenjeh (Marinated Certified Angus Beef Strip Loin Shish Kabob) Dessert: Bastanee (Saffron Ice Cream with Rosewater and Pistachios) We have never tasted something like Kashke Bademjan (Eggplant Spread) anywhere else, and it's addictive. Bastanee (Saffron Ice Cream) is simply amazing. All other dishes we have tried are excellent, especially Lamb Kabobs. A bonus: There is a Persian grocery store next to the restaurant. It is so fun to explore this store.
Loved this place! First time trying Persian food. The server was very helpful, especially considering we didn't even know how to eat one of our dishes. My boyfriend and I split 2 appetizers and 1 kabob entree, and they actually split the entree onto 2 separate plates for us. The food was all delicious and I would love to go back
Their beef kabob is the closest to the authentic version that you can get in DC area. It's annoying that they charge for bread, however overall quality of the food make it a good decision.
